Service Projects

"To nurture children into a loving, serving relationship with Jesus"

At Mile End Community Church we provide opportunities for children to develop their faith by serving and valuing people. We want children to share their faith with others by expressing love in real ways.

'Building the habit of service at a young age tends to alter the attitudes and expectations of young people, resulting in a lifelong practice of helping others. The younger we instill such a mind-set and lifestyle, the more ingrained they become'. George Barna.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,

you did for me.” Matthew 25:40"

Let's show them that someone cares!

Late last year a small group of people got together to discuss what activities MECC could do which might make a difference in the lives of people.

Our congregation is not large so we determined that in the course of a calendar year we should only do a few things and do them well.   We decided on a community collection of tins of soup and warm blankets for the homeless.  The set date was for June 2013 and so Operation WInter Warmers was born.

1 Bible 4 U!

Providing Bibles for Children and Families in the South Pacific Islands.

We presented our '1 Bible 4 U Project' to our children and their families during February 2013. The idea was to raise funds during Kids Kingdom Workshops throughout March. The money collected was used to buy Bibles for children in the South Pacific Islands. Each Bible was approximately $10 each and our children were very optimistic saying we could raise enough to buy 1000 Bibles!!! This was a combined project across our SDA churches around the world so 1000 is not too much to ask.

Children were very happy to bring their offerings and place Bibles in many more homes.
